Students and teachers make extensive use of Information & Communication Technologies in teaching and learning at Killester College. The College has an extensive 1:1 laptop program starting from Year Seven, with the students leasing an Apple MacBook Air for three years with the opportunity to take another lease at the end of Year Nine.
Students have access to resources for each class maintained on the College’s intranet, and the online distribution and submission of written work is extensively used across year levels.
The 1:1 laptop program is supported with an experienced IT department which manages all aspects of the program, including the procurement, leasing, provisioning and maintenance of the machines. Pedagogy is supported with ongoing staff training in all aspects of eLearning.
The College is proud of the manner in which ICT is embedded in all areas of classroom practice, and believe the extensive use of ICT has positive implications for student learning.
