Instrumental Lessons Application Form 2021

Lessons are conducted weekly, though availability is dependent upon the number of students enrolled for a particular instrument.  Each lesson is 30 or 45 minutes in length and is scheduled according to a rotating timetable so that students do not miss the same subject on a regular basis.  Regular concerts are conducted at the school so that students may gain practice performing on their instrument.  Students are also strongly encouraged to participate in the school’s music ensembles, as this accelerates their learning.  These ensembles will include the Senior Concert Band, Junior Concert Band (Honk), String Ensemble, Swing Sisters Choir, Jazz Band, Rock Band, Senior Vocal Group, Year 7 Choir and Production Band.

Fees

Individual lessons range are available and in some cases, students may be able to share a lesson at a lower cost.

Hiring

Most of the above instruments, except for piano, drum kit and percussion, can be hired from the school according to availability at a minimal cost per term.  If an instrument is not available, you may wish to purchase your own or be placed on a waiting list.  Students are responsible for taking care of school instruments.

After a year of hiring, students are encouraged to purchase their own instruments so that others can have an opportunity to learn.
