The study of Languages offers students many significant benefits and contributes towards the overall education of the individual.Not only does it contribute towards developing communication, literacy and problem solving skills, it also develops general knowledge and intercultural understanding.The study of Languages provides for a more outward facing, socially cohesive, interconnected and culturally aware global citizen and equips them for a wide range of careers.

At Killester the Languages of Indonesian and Italian are compulsory for all students from Years 7 to 9. At Year 7 students are able to study both Languages, each for one semester and then continue in their Language of choice in Years 8 & 9. At Year 10 students are able to continue to study their chosen Language from Years 8 & 9 into VCE level.
